Wayne Johnson, a science teacher and volleyball coach atPescadero High School, doesn't mind giving up time to prepare forclass, grade papers or just kick his feet up and relax to spendeven more time in a classroom each Tuesday night.

The class is at Stanford University, where the students arelearning about the politics, economy, history, and biologicaldiversity of Costa Rica. When the class ends after ten weeks,they'll put their education to work with a visit to thecountry.
