We know that Rescue Riders and all pages associated with it won't be cannon in the main HTTYD universe and I feel it should be treated a little bit different from the rest of the pages. A template at the top of the page stating that the articte is not from the main universe is a thing that I see on other wikis, but other than that, I'm not sure what to do. We have different approaches for articles from the book series and the franchise, so I think that we should do the same with Rescue Riders, since it appears to be its own thing, and not connected in any way to the already existing franchise. I'm open to opinions and suggestions.

As per our discussion a few months back, I finally got time to clean up the gifs on the dragon species pages. For now I've only done three, as I'd like to check with you guys before continuing. Are they okay or am I removing too many?

I can't answer it now, because in general I'm all for removing excessive gifs, but the ones you left sometimes don't look good in the text (in the sense that slideshows just fitted better into the paragraphs, while single gifs aren't aligned well with the paragraphs. I gotta check if it's just my phone's issue and I won't be able to get on my computer till weekend.
Btw what's your take on my suggestion?

I think it would be better to put an accompanying screenshot next to that paragraph rather than linking a reply to a post. That reply is about a particular post and dericted to a particular user, while the rules are general.
Re the gifs, it might be your phone's problem, I suppose. They show up just fine on my laptop, and I made sure to leave the separators where they are needed. On my phone (with desktop view), they are also well aligned with the paragraphs.

I didn't think of a reply. I thought of this post, it's entirely about categories. To avoid any unnecessary spam, it can be proactively locked.
As for the gifs, I'll check it when I'm home.

Hey, I’m alive! Re the category post, that’s not a bad idea. I’ll try to get to that today.
Re the gifs, I’m totally fine with the excess being removed and the pages cleaned up. We know who’s guilty of making that mess, and how many times we’ve had to talk to them with our warnings being completely ignored in the long run. It’s always such a relief when he’s inactive, but he always seems to pop up again unexpectedly after months or even over a year of inactivity. Wish we could just block him, but I doubt that would be justified. With that said, I wish he would just abide by the MoS and follow instructions given to him by staff. Anyway, yeah, I have absolutely no problem with the gif clean up. 😛

There's always the option of blocking him from just uploading, if he ever becomes active again and goes against the MOS. Now that T9R is over, there's no new content for him to upload gifs or images from. I'll continue right after I finish with How to Train Your Hogfly. I was lucky to find the 20th anniversary edition of HTTYD at a local library earlier today, and I only borrowed it for a week.

Alright, I managed to get to my laptop and indeed, gifs only look so displaced on my phone. In that case, I'm more than happy that the excessive ones will be removed.

The IMDb page for the live-action HTTYD lists a character named Skaldor, played by Samuel Johnson. I can't find any other website mentioning the actor in relation to the film other than this. However, IMDb has proven trustworthy in the past by revealing the names of a couple of Rescue Riders episodes a few years before they were released. Should we add this to the wiki, then?

Sorry for not responding, my life's got pretty busy recently and I barely can keep up. As for the info, I don't really know? If IMDb being the only source is enough for you, I'm fine with it. I personally wouldn't add this just because in general I'm not a fan of adding stuff before it's announced and thus officially confirmed, but that's just me. In this particular case, I'm completely indifferent, especially since IMDb is generally a good source, since they claim to check any changes that users add before they are published. So if the info is there, it's probably true, even though it hasn't been announced anywhere yet. It's strange though that this guy is more like a stunt actor and the only released movie he's supposedly known for is em, rather unknown? At least that's what I got from his IMDb page. The guy probably just hasn't made a name for himself yet, but because of it it's hard to confirm anything. He literally doesn't exist anywhere beside this IMDb page.
I must admit, I kind of feel that it wouldn't hurt if we waited for the confirmation, like, the wiki wouldn't really lose much because of that. Honestly, I'm neither all for adding it, nor really against it, though if I had to choose, I'd wait for now. Sorry, I have too much on my plate now to worry about these things.
