Yellowstone: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (2024)

91% Tomatometer 11 Reviews 82% Audience Score 500+ Ratings Oscar and Emmy winner Kevin Costner is the marquee attraction of the ensemble cast in this drama series, starring as the patriarch of a powerful, complicated family of ranchers. A sixth-generation homesteader and devoted father, John Dutton controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. He operates in a corrupt world where politicians are compromised by influential oil and lumber corporations and land grabs make developers billions. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect, Dutton's property is in constant conflict with those it borders -- an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America's first national park. What to Know

Critics Consensus

Hitting its stride as a predictably unpredictable oat opera, Yellowstone continues to entertain with its tough-as-rawhide characters and modernized perspective on classic cowboy tropes.

Yellowstone: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Elamin Abdelmahmoud BuzzFeed News The bunkhouse is also the primary site of one of Yellowstone’s most compelling character developments...by Season 4, Jimmy is transformed into a proper cowboy. The bunkhouse values are competence and independence above all else. Nov 30, 2022 Full Review Yellowstone: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Amanda Whiting indieWire It's the oldest story told about the American west, but creator Taylor Sheridan capably reimagines the enemy for late-stage capitalism: land developers, private equity, eminent domain. It's not just John's ranch at stake, but his way of life. Rated: B Dec 13, 2021 Full Review Yellowstone: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Nick Schager The Daily Beast Yellowstone, however, instead focused less on vengeance than on teasing tragedies and revelations at the same time that its characters circled the wagons and licked their wounds... Nov 11, 2021 Full Review Yellowstone: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) David Skipwith Stuff.co.nz [Cowboy] roles are colourfully portrayed in Yellowstone - now four seasons in - while also embracing western tropes about preserving ranch culture, protecting the land from greedy developers, and settling tensions with Native American tribes. May 23, 2022 Full Review Yellowstone: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Hannah Brown Jerusalem Post In a sense, it another one of those rich family-power struggle dramas, like Succession. But the Western setting changes everything. Derek C Four seasons in and it is still going strong. Definite vibes of Dallas back in the day. So many streaming shows start to fall off in the third or fourth season but Yellowstone keep plowing forward with bingeworthy episodes. I would give it five stars except there are just too many kills for it to be believable. But aside from that, one of the best TV shows I have seen in quite a few years. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/03/24 Full Review Jack R Great. Epic in many ways! A US tale and perspective that needs to be told. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review Claudiu I I expected this season to be weaker. It didn't happen. As much as the story advance more and more are to be discovered about characters. They are deeper. Story is still interesting, cinematography still good. A joy to watch it and feel it. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Valerie N I don't know why I keep trying to watch this show, I guess I just like Kevin Costner so much but its terrible!!! Kevin, try to learn something from Aaron Spelling when your putting out your next show...Good luck next time. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review Zack F yellowstone season 4 glad to see it Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review Adam How many times you can repeat a failed assassination attempts? Answer - every season. The show loops the same cliches season by season with indestructible Beth that character is a toxic male fantasy rather than realistic portrayal. Oh and the gigantic plot holes where Noone ever figures out people disappearing around the Dutton ranch and that strangled reporter cover up by putting her into kayak? It's laughable. And the biggest flaw is that not only it's super predictable that Jamie will always lose, Jamie is the gollum, Beth is "cool and sexy bad girl" and "rip is the hypermasculine cowboy" "old Dutton is a cowboy napoleon meets john Wayne And Plato" 😂 the sole fact that cowboys lecture and talk down absolutely everybody as if they were some kind of new era Aristotle grade philosophers. Every season works like this - Jamie messes up sooner or later, Jamie gets is *** kicked, some random fails assassination attempt and gets killed. And Beth is making milion "evil" teenager faces and equally impotent insults In the process and everyone just gets literally blasted by it 😂 nothing can ever happen to old Dutton rip or Beth or kayce too because the writers seem to be masturbating to them each night Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
